HOW YOUR SOFTPAY V-CARD WORKS
Is it a Credit Card?
No. The amount stated on the V-Card when you purchase it is the total money available to you for spending. Once this has run out, you simply dispose of the card and buy another. You cannot spend more than the amount you have left on the card.
Can I see a statement?
In order for you to keep tabs on your V-Card expenses and know your balance, your card statement will be e-mailed to you at anytime you request. Please note that we are not liable for card misuse so we advise that you always keep your card details, pin numbers and passwords safe as is usual with such matters.
Does the V-Card expire?
Your SoftPay V-Card comes activated and imediately ready to use. It expires when you have spent all the money loaded onto it or when it reaches the expiry date, which will be sent to you along with the details of the card.(usually within 12 months)
Can I make a purchase without a name and UK address?
Yes you can. However, some websites require you to enter a name and address to complete an online purchase. And some web shops will not sell or send anything to Nigeria. For these sites to accept your order, you will have to first register a username and address. For a small fee of N500 we can register your card for you with a UK address. You must then enter exactly the same details when using the card to make a purchase at websites requesting this information. If purchasing a physical item that needs to be delivered, you can change the delivery address, but if the site does not allow that, you can contact us at SoftPay and we can arrange collection and onward delivery for you*
How do I buy over the internet using my SoftPay V-Card?
You make purchases just like you would with any other normal credit/debit card, but dont worry, when you get your card it will come with detailed instructions on how to use it.
What happens if I have an odd balance left on the card?
You may request that this amount be converted and credited to your softPay account subject to a balance reclaim fee of N500. Also if you have registered your card, you can transfer up to £10 onto a new V-Card, for a small fee of just N250.
What are the fees associated with the use of the V-Card
After you purchase your SoftPay V-Card, there are some nominal fees incured during use.
*Transaction Fee - 2% of transaction amount(Subject to a minimum of 50 pence and a maximum of £1)
*Monthly Maintenance Fee - Free for the first 3months and then £2/month(this amount will continue to be deducted from the balance on the card till it expires)
*Foreign Exchange Charge - 2.95% of Transaction amount
*Registration/UK adress Fee - £2/N500(optional)
What if I buy something in a foreign currency eg Dollars or Marks?
The card comes in UK currency of Pounds(£) You can use your card to make a purchase in American shops where they use Dollard($) also but you have to pay a foreign exchange charge of 2.95% of the value of your purchase.
Can I use my card to verify my PayPal account?
This is the big question and the answer is a big yes you can. PayPal recognises this card 100% So you can add it to your account and make purchases via PayPal or to use for verifying your PayPal account.
Ok, I want this card, How do I get it?
Simple. Go up this page to the images of the cards and click on the big 'Buy now' button under the one you select. A SoftPay payment page will appear and you will be required to sign in and make your payment from the balance in your SoftPay account. If you dont have enough balance, then make a deposit and re-try. If you do not have a SoftPay account, sign up for one, its quick and easy. Once your payment is made within the next 12hrs you will recieve the details of your new SoftPay V-card in your email and the pin/security numbers as text message in your GSM phone ready for immediate use.
